Privacy Policy

Naniday ("the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and — just as importantly — what is not collected.
Naniday does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no user login, and the App does not collect or store any personally identifiable information on a server.
1. Information We Access
- Location (optional): When you use the "Find nearby spots" feature on certain events, the App requests your device's location to search for relevant places (for example, hot spring inns or eel restaurants) via the Google Places API. Your location is used only to perform that search at the time you request it and is not stored by the App or sent to our own servers.
- Notification permission (optional): If you enable "Notify before events," the App schedules local notifications directly on your device using iOS's notification system. No push token or notification content is sent to any server — reminders are generated and delivered entirely on-device.
- Purchase information: If you subscribe to Naniday Premium, purchase and subscription status are processed by Apple's In-App Purchase system and managed via RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. Naniday does not directly collect your payment details.
- Advertising identifiers: The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob, which may use device advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads.
2. Information Stored on Your Device Only
The following data is saved locally on your device (using standard iOS on-device storage) and is never transmitted to or stored on any Naniday server:
- Your favorite events ("Favorite Days")
- Your selected event category filters (Traditional, Wordplay, Monthly, Holiday)
- Your language preference and notification on/off setting
If you delete the App, this locally stored data is removed along with it.
3. Event Content Data
The list of Japanese events and commemorative days shown in the App is retrieved from our own backend database (Supabase), which contains only public, non-personal calendar content. No information about you is sent to this database — it is used solely to read event data.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — advertising (free version only)
- Google Places API — nearby spot search, triggered on demand
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
- Supabase — hosting of public event content
Naniday does not sell your data to any third party.
5. Affiliate Links
Some events include a "Shop gifts" or "See recipe" button that opens an Amazon search result in your device's browser. This simply opens a public Amazon search page and does not share any personal information from the App with Amazon.
6. Children's Privacy
Naniday is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Choices
You can disable location access, notifications, and ad personalization at any time from your device's Settings app. Since favorites and preferences are stored only on your device, you can clear them at any time by resetting them in the App or by deleting the App.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
